WORSHIP SERVICES

In recognition of our congregation's changing lifestyles, we offer Shabbat services at different times during each month. On many Fridays, we start with an oneg at 5:30 p.m. with light healthy snacks, wine and cheese, and services begin at 6:00 p.m. More traditional Shabbat services begin at 8:00 p.m. and include a sermon by the Rabbi or guest speaker. Family Services begin at 7:00 p.m. These tend to highlight one or more of our religious school classes with the honored class(es) participating in the service. Students whose birthdays fall during that month are given an aliyah and celebrate at the Oneg Shabbat. For families with young children, there also are Tot Shabbats.

Shabbat morning services are held at 10:30 a.m. B'nai Mitzvah are held during the school year. Congregants participate in morning services by conducting the service, reading Torah, and/or leading a discussion about the weekly Torah portion.

During the summer, congregants lead our Friday night services, which begin at 6:00 p.m. The clergy resume the pulpit in September.

In addition to Shabbat, services are held throughout the year to celebrate the Jewish holidays. Yizkor services are scheduled for the last day of each of the festivals.
